Lagos Nigeria is a famous and glittering city, abundant in natural beauty and surrounded by
sea. a land of opportunity with its diverse culture, economic growth, and superb accommodation, it is no surprise that the city is Nigeria’s most dynamic city. listed below are the top 5 things you don't know about Lagos Nigeria
5. Population
The smallest in area of Nigeria's 36 states an emerging mega city which is home to over 20 million people with a socio-cultural melting pot attracting both Nigerians and foreigners alike. UN estimations say that the city should have no less than 15 million, rapidly rising to about 25 million by the year 2015, to become the worlds second most populous City
4. Economy
According to so many articles about the economy of Lagos as been the most economically important state of Nigeria and if it were a country it would be the fifth largest economy in Africa. Lagos also house the country busiest airport and seaport. I tag Lagos as place you can invest and never regret you doing it
3. Transportation
For me the city is the only one operating four transportation systems which include road, water, rail and air transportation with the cable car system under construction is so sure this city is promising mega city. The BRT is the first of it kind in sub Sahara Africa
2. Clean
Though so many people will disagree with me on this one but on a serious note Lagos is clean for it enormous population of over 20 million. it is not easy to manage such a large population with it waste generation of up to 13000 tonnes daily non of it kind in the country. if it a lie compare Lagos of the 1990's or early 2000 to the present Lagos
1. Ghost Traffic Jam
Lagos is the only city i know where traffic builds up and you wonder what cause the traffic after you meet a free way after 2 to 3 hours in gridlock. You cannot come to Lagos and miss traffic (‘go-slows’) no way you just have encounter one.
